Principal’s Message

Welcome to St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Marsfield. St Anthony’s is a Catholic parish school that recognises each child as being unique and formed in the image of God. We are a school community where a friendly, trusting collaboration between the Principal, Parish Priest, teachers and parents is fostered for the ongoing development of each individual.

Our school motto “Let Your Light Shine” permeates the life of the school. We strive to live out the Gospel values of Jesus each day in a supportive and caring environment that acknowledges and celebrates the gifts and talents of all those in the community – children, teachers and parents so that they can make a difference to the world in which we live.

Deciding on your child’s future education and wellbeing is a very important one so it is essential to find out about the school and its community. At St Anthony’s we are immensely proud of our vibrant Catholic school. I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our school.

Kevin Turner
Principal

St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School Marsfield was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1934 when the present parish hall served as a church and a school. In 1939 the Daughters of Charity assumed administration of the school with an enrolment of 40 students.

During 1939-1945 the student population grew to 85 as Italian migrants came to the area. The first school buildings were funded and constructed in the 1950s and 1960s by the local parishioners and volunteer labour.

In 1984, the school celebrated its Golden Jubilee of 50 years. Two years later, the Daughters of Charity departed the school to focus on local community needs and the first lay principal was then appointed.

Vision
To empower each student to realise their full potential through living out the school’s motto ‘Let Your Light Shine’.
